These frost resistant pots are of a much higher quality than the bright orange pots that are mass produced & fired at low temperatures, these pots are first allowed to dry naturally, & then fired at a very high temperature for 12-18 hours, before leaving to cool naturally over the next 24 hours. This produces a terracotta much less porous, so less likely to absorb moisture & crack if it gets really cold.
