Red Pepper Red Pepper is an independent magazine based in the UK with radical views. Although originally it was a monthly magazine since 2007 the publishers have made it bi-monthly. The magazine came into circulation as a direct impact of the Socialist movement which took place in Chesterfield in 1987. The Socialists believed in the need for a magazine without the affiliation of any political party & were convinced that there was a demand for a regular green-left publication expressing their ideas. The editor’s post is occupied by Hilary Wainwright & prominent writers for the magazine include James O' Nions Michael Calderbank Emma Hughes & Sarah-Jayne Clifton who make up the editorial board. Red Pepper is a socialist publication that draws heavily on feminist green & libertarian politics. It seeks to help to build a kind of pluralistic dynamic movement which can challenge the present economic system to its very core & end its tendency towards war & eventual environmental destruction & degradation.
